BC Building Science was retained by the Owners of The Dogwood as the Prime Consultant for a targeted building envelope renovation at their building. The Dogwood is a three-storey wood-framed residential building constructed over a below-grade cast-concrete parking garage, located in White Rock, BC.
The Strata approached BCBS to assess the existing condition of the balconies and related building envelope assemblies. A thorough Balcony Condition Assessment was conducted, and it was determined that a full balcony renovation was in order. Scaffolding was erected and the team got to work! The end result was a brand new balcony system which was not only much safer for residents but also far more attractive with its streamlined and modern appearance.
