Farshid Bagheri, Ph.D., P.Eng., one of the newer additions to the BC Building Science team, has been working at BCBS for one year as a Mechanical and Energy Efficiency Engineer.
He’s involved in energy modelling and sustainability consultation for new construction projects, commissioning of building energy systems, energy audit and assessment of depreciation for existing mechanical systems, condition review of building mechanical systems and consultation on cost-effective upgrades to energy efficient types.
Farshid holds a Doctorate Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Simon Fraser University. He has been practicing in the areas of Energy Efficiency; Energy Conversion and Conservation; Energy Audit; Design, Optimization, and Commissioning of Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, and Refrigeration systems in different applications.
Before coming to BCBS, one of Farshid’s most challenging and interesting job experiences was teaching at Simon Fraser University as Lecturer of an undergraduate engineering course. He pushed his students to learn an applicable engineering software tool along with the course material that would remarkably help them in their future career. He was even know as “the best prof. ever” by some students.
His Favorite project (so far) at BCBS was energy modelling of a passive non-residential building and research study on different energy efficiency aspects of it that led to winning an IBPSA-Energy Modelling Award and an accepted research paper for 7th International Conference on Clean Energy.
When not at work, Farshid enjoys Watching Movies and TV series, swimming, traveling and spending time with his family.
