Sade Akinbami, EIT, has been a part of the BC Building Science team for nearly a year, working as a project engineer, specializing in our renovation projects. She has a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with a career background in Building Science.
During her time at BCBS, Sade has worked on many renovation projects. Her favorite was working on the re-cladding of a heritage building, while also taking into consideration heritage conservation parameters at every stage of the project (i.e. from assessment to preliminary design and into / during construction).
One of Sades most interesting jobs before BCBS was working for a tech marketing company. It was an enlightening experience where she was able to improve the public speaking skills that she still uses today in meetings and presentations.
When not a work, Sade enjoys taking pictures on hikes, or around the city with friends, and also singing at her church. Her favorite vacation was a trip to Barcelona, where she admired the architecture, especially the Sagrada Familia, while hitting the beach and enjoying the local cuisine.
If Sade could be any animal, she chose a dolphin. If she could have any superpower, she wants the ability to fly so she can appreciate this world from a different view and have an advantage over traffic via air, land or sea!
