BC Building Science was retained by Onni Group to provide building envelope consultation and perform energy modeling to meet the EnerGuide requirements of Evelyn Parcel 10. The project consists of 10 single family homes and is located at Evelyn Drive in West Vancouver.

The energy target was aligned with the requirements of the City of West Vancouver’s Green Building Covenant which requires the detached homes to meet or exceed an EnerGuide Rating of 80.

As such, the Certified Energy Advisors (CEA) of BC Building Science were engaged to perform the required energy modeling as per the protocols of Natural Resource Canada (NRCan).

The following work was completed by BCBS:

• Energy modeling to determine building envelope design and required mechanical systems efficiency to meet EnerGuide 80.
• Building envelope design reviews aligned with the energy model to ensure effective thermal / moisture management.
• Air barrier commissioning services to ensure the air tightness requirement is met after construction.
