BC Building Science was retained by the Owners of Connaught Court as the Building Envelope Consultant for a targeted building envelope renovation at their building. Connaught Court is a 3-storey wood-framed residential building constructed over a below-grade parkade. It contains 44 units, and is located at 2121 West 6th Avenue, Vancouver.
BCBS and the Strata developed an architectural design strategy to improve the function, durability, and appeal of the building exterior. Through a process of consultation and various other methods, an Architectural design scheme was developed and approved by the Strata. The renovation included the full replacement of the existing windows and sliding doors, replacement of the balcony assembly (waterproofing membrane, guardrails, and related structural upgrades), new light fixtures, and general wall maintenance (painting of the stucco walls and sealing of the brick veneer).
