The Schou Education Centre is a 3-storey concrete & steel-framed (new portion) and wood-framed (heritage portion) educational services building in Burnaby. Previously located at a building that had reached the end of its viability after 70 years, the Burnaby School Board relocated to this innovative structure which features a modern new section artfully attached via walkways to the fully renovated heritage section of the structure. The school board’s new home is surrounded by a beautifully landscaped property where great care has been taken to preserve the many horse chestnut trees.
BC Building Science contributed to the successful completion of this development as key member of the project team with focus on the following services:
