BCBS SHOWS IT’S A CUT ABOVE WITH INNOVATIVE ADHESION TESTING!

May 1st, 2024

By: BC Building Science

Building adhesion tests are a highly successful method used to assess the strength of adhesion between different layers of materials in a building, such as paint to substrate or flooring to concrete.  These adhesion tests, which include pull-off tests, tape tests, and scratch / cut tests, are vital in order to determine if the product used has been applied properly and if the minimum required measurements have been achieved; this helps to ensure that the materials are able to perform effectively and for the required length of time.  Uniform thickness, well performing adhesion, and achieving specified industry standards are always the focus for these highly specialized tests.  Ensuring the integrity and durability of building materials, especially in environments prone to wear or weathering, is key for both longstanding performance and safety.
