Located in Vancouver, the Hopehill Living in Community residences offer caring and affordable housing for seniors. The Dogwood Building is a 6-storey wood-framed residential building with studio and 1-bedroom suites offering spacious living within light-filled rooms, ensuite laundry, and picturesque mountain and city views from open air balconies.
BCBS was an integral part of the team during the new construction of this development. Our expertise contributed to the successful completion of this exciting project through building envelope consulting services. This approach first included establishing the basis of design for the building envelope. During the construction phase, we performed ongoing field reviews and provided field testing of key envelope components as the testing agency. This approach first included establishing the basis of design for the building envelope and guiding the design for energy efficiency optimization through energy modelling. Envelope field testing included the necessary quality assurance field tests to ensure optimal functionality such as testing a sampling of windows and doors as well as conducting whole building airtightness testing to ensure compliance with energy efficiency targets. We also provided accredited roofing review services and warranty administration for RCABC.
