BC Building Science was retained by the Owners of The Beeches as the Prime Consultant for a targeted building envelope renovation at their building. The Beeches is comprised of seven 3-storey wood-framed townhouse buildings with a below-grade, cast-in-place reinforced concrete parking garage. Located in North Vancouver, these 29 townhouse units offer exceptional multi-level living within walking distance to all the terrific amenities that the Central Lonsdale neighbourhood has to offer.
The Owners approached BCBS to help determine a strategy to address the need for a widespread roofing renovation. The project entailed the replacement of all roofing at the main and lower sloped roofs throughout the complex with a new asphalt shingle system, a new 2-ply SBS membrane system, and other scopes of work related to the project.
Through a process of consultation and various other methods, an architectural design strategy was developed and approved by the Owners. Throughout the course of the project, BCBS provided the following services:
