The Shore is a 5-storey wood and concrete-framed mixed-use building, with 15 residential units. Located in Richmond’s picturesque seaside village of Steveston, this luxury building is nestled next to the mighty Fraser River. Each residence boasts a large harbourside terrace, expansive windows that allow sunlight to fill each room, and high-end fixtures and design which reflect the upscale tone. Steveston has many distinct offerings including riverside parks and walkways plus endless restaurants featuring local seafood, all within a diverse, culture-rich community.
BCBS was an integral part of the team during the new construction of this development. Our expertise contributed to the successful completion of this exciting project through building envelope consulting services. This approach first included establishing the basis of design for the building envelope. During the construction phase, we performed ongoing field reviews and provided field testing of key envelope components as the testing agency. Envelope field testing included the necessary quality assurance field tests to ensure optimal functionality such as testing a sampling of windows and doors as well as conducting whole building airtightness testing to ensure compliance with energy efficiency targets.
