RILS Deck Replacement

July 31st, 2019

By: DCD Developer

BC Building Science teamed up with the Residences for Independent Living Society to replace the deck at their False Creek Residence. Their deck was decayed with nails sticking out and cracked boards, making it unsafe to walk on in many areas. Over two days, our staffed helped with removing the existing decking and installing the new deck.

The Residences for Independent Living Society has been providing housing for young adults with disabilities in Vancouver for 50 years. Their False Creek Residence houses 24 tenants and provides them 24-hour assistance with professional meal preparation, a variety of exercise equipment with a regular physiotherapist and a full recreation lounge.
