This Month’s Building Envelope Maintenance Tip – Clean Your Gutters & Downpipes!

January 16th, 2023

By: BC Building Science

For healthy gutters and downpipes, be sure to clean out this important and often overlooked system on a regular basis.  Not only will consistent maintenance keep things running smoothly, it will give you peace of mind during the wettest and coldest months.  A gutter that is full of debris will be rained and snowed on as the temperatures drop, which will result in hard packed, frozen chunks in your gutters.  Suddenly you’ve got a time consuming and possibly expensive problem on your hands!  Why not take the time twice a year, particularly in the Spring and Fall, to clean and flush out the gutters and downpipes to ensure that drainage is clear and flowing smoothly!
