MECHANICAL ENGINEER / TECHNOLOGIST
What we are looking for:
BC Building Science seeks a Junior to Intermediate Mechanical Engineer or Technologist to join our successful team. The main role involves energy audit / modelling, heat transfer calculations, lifecycle analysis, commissioning of buildings during design and construction phases, and condition assessment of existing buildings. The successful candidate will be working with a team of mechanical and building envelope engineers supervised by professional engineers.
What we expect from you:
- A Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Diploma of Technology in Building Mechanical Systems.
- Minimum one-year of related building design / construction experience.
- Good understanding of local building codes, construction methods / materials, and detailed drawings.
- Detailed-oriented for engineering calculations, project documentations, and site observations.
- Excellent communication skills with fluent English – written and oral.
What you are going to do:
- Perform quantity take-off on building drawings for heat transfer and LCA calculations.
- Review details of construction work by contractors and perform test & verification of building systems at the end of construction.
- Perform energy audit, assess condition of building mechanical & electrical systems, develop energy models, and prepare technical reports.

Salary range: $65,000 – $75,000 annually
