Building Envelope Consultant (USA)

What we are looking for:

BC Building Science is looking for a Building Envelope Consultant to join our successful team as a contractor based in Seattle or Los Angeles.  The main role involves enhanced building envelope field review services for new construction and renovation construction.

What we expect from you:

  • Diploma or degree in building science preferred.
  • Minimum five-years building envelope experience with local construction methods and materials.
  • Skilled in technical writing and have excellent communication skills – written and oral.
  • IRATA / SPRAT rope access certification or willingness to complete an IRATA / SPRAT rope access training course; and
  • Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Leadership skills.
  • Creative thinker with high attention to detail.

 

What you are going to do:

  • Review building envelope aspects of the construction of wood-framed and concrete structures from single family homes, to high-rise residential towers, to commercial and institutional buildings.
  • Enhanced field review / quality assurance audits and technical report writing.
  • Collaborate with the energy and commissioning services team.
  • Maintain communication and correspondence with related parties including Developers, Contractors, and Architects.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Salary: From $60k + annual, depending on education and experience.
