Adhesion Testing
When BCBS specialists are out in the field and working on a project, numerous tests need to take place both during construction and upon completion to ensure that all necessary procedures have been followed to the letter. One type of test that is routinely conducted is the adhesion test. These tests cover distinct categories of materials, most notably:
- Paint adhesion – primer, mid-coat, and top coat
- Waterproofing membrane adhesion
- Sealant adhesion
It is essential to determine that the required adhesion has been achieved and that the installation requirements have been strictly adhered to. Once a test has been completed, if there is a passing grade, then work can move to the next stage. If some element of the test fails, a correction must be made and then a subsequent test will be performed. These tests, among the many others, ensure that a safe and long lasting building will reliably shelter its many occupants and businesses.
