BCBS PUTS THE TRAMEX MOISTURE SCANNER TO WORK!

October 23rd, 2024

By: BC Building Science

Living on the west coast, we are well aware of how excess moisture in building materials can lead to mold growth, wood rot, or structural damage. Fortunately, the Tramex Moisture Scanner helps detect these moisture issues early, allowing for preventive measures to be taken before major damage occurs.

The Tramex Moisture Scanner is a non-invasive, handheld moisture meter used to detect and measure moisture content in a variety of materials.  It allows you to measure moisture without drilling holes or damaging the material being tested, making it an ideal instrument for inspecting finished surfaces like walls, floors, or roofs without leaving any damage or marks to repair.  The scanner provides immediate results, which are both accurate and reliable, enabling quick assessments of large areas, this being especially useful when time is critical to prevent further water damage.  Some models can measure moisture at different depths, allowing users to detect surface moisture as well as moisture that is more deep-seated. This knowledge helps in assessing how deeply moisture has penetrated, which can be vital for planning restoration work.  Detecting moisture and preventing mold growth far sooner than later helps create both a safer and healthier environment and can save you a lot of money in the long run!
