OFFICE ADMINISTATOR

What we are looking for:

BC Building Science seeks an Office Administrator with technical writing experience to work within the Engineering consultancy sector.

 

What we expect from you:

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience working in an administrative support role in a professional office environment.
  • A Technical Writing diploma or certificate, or equivalent work experience.
  • A high level of attention to detail to ensure consistency and accuracy in a fast-paced setting.
  • Strong command of the English language.
  • Experience working across a variety of software programs (MS Suite, Office 365, Adobe, WordPress, etc.) and office equipment (printers, multi-line phone systems, computer workstations, etc.).
  • A willingness to jump in and provide administrative support where needed.
  • Previous experience working within an engineering environment is an asset.

 

What you are going to do:

  • Proofread technical engineering reports for formatting and grammar and issue them to external clients in a prescribed turnaround time.
  • Be our first point of contact at the front desk; including receiving and redirecting phone calls and emails, coordinating shipping of packages / documents, managing shared calendars, coordinating office maintenance, equipment, and supplies, etc.
  • Create and format a variety of documents, presentations, reports, marketing copy, etc.
  • Support other admin team members in organizing and executing office events and meetings, including taking meeting minutes, prepping event spaces, coordinating food orders, etc.
  • Provide additional support and / or vacation coverage of other admin team members as required.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
