TESTING TECHNICIAN
What we are looking for:
BC Building Science seeks a Testing Technician to join our successful team. The primary role involves enhanced building envelope field testing and review services for new construction and renovation construction.
What we expect from you:
- IRATA / SPRAT rope access certification or willingness to complete an IRATA / SPRAT rope access training course.
- Diploma or degree in building envelope or construction technology preferred.
- Experience with local construction methods and materials, including use of tools/equipment.
- A valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle.
- Skilled in technical writing and have excellent communication skills – written and oral.
- Excellent team player.
- Creative thinker with high attention to detail.
What you are going to do:
- Perform building envelope field testing (water testing, air-leakage testing, material adhesion testing, water-leakage investigations, and other related testing services).
- Apply material testing and commissioning standards to independently execute required testing, including testing equipment certification and reporting.
- Conduct enhanced field review / quality assurance audits of ongoing construction / building envelope installations and associated technical report writing and communication with related parties including Developers, Contractors, and Architects.
- Continue to grow and learn new skills that can help you grow the position and that will be adaptable in meeting the continued needs of the construction industry.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Base salary range: $50,000 – $70,000 per year
