As the days grow longer and the temperatures rise, our thoughts happily drift to the prospect of spending lots of quality time outside after what feels like an extended wet and dark winter.  Along with walks on nearby trails and frolicking at the beach, we also love to enjoy outdoor fun which is closer to home, including our own exterior deck.  The first peek outside may be a discouraging one as winter can leave behind a bit of a mess, but don’t despair as a spring clean of this area can be relatively quick and easy!  Giving your deck a thorough sweep will remove loose debris, and following up with a wet wash and cleaner will help to remove stains.  Any mildew and mossy bits can cause the surface of a deck to become slick, a potential slipping hazard, so be sure to remove any type of organic growth.  Arrange the furniture, toss on the decorative pillows, and set up the BBQ (but don’t put it too close to your siding!).  After a little TLC, your deck will once again be an inviting space that you don’t have to travel far to enjoy!
